Helmets to Hardhats

Whether you found us on your own or through the Helmets to Hardhats program, welcome! Thank you for your service and for your interest in an apprenticeship at PNCI. You may be eligible for Education Benefits through one of the VA’s Montgomery GI Bill programs.

Use the Veteran’s Administration’s online GI Bill Comparison Tool to research the Education Benefits which might be available to you as an apprentice at PNCI. Find our program registered in the Employer (On-the-job training, apprenticeships) section under the name “OREGON SW-WA CARPENTERS JATC.”

Should a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) offer you a place in an apprenticeship at PNCI, we encourage you to apply for your GI Bill benefit through the VA. Apply at https://www.va.gov/education/.

After you complete the online form, the VA will issue a letter of eligibility regarding your Education Benefits. Please provide a copy of your letter of eligibility to PNCI so our staff can work with you to ensure your timely access to your benefits.

Veterans in the Brotherhood

Apprentices are welcome to attend a monthly forum for veterans organized by the Northwest Carpenters Union. The Veterans in the Brotherhood meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:00 pm at the NW Carpenters Union’s Portland office.
